Welcoming dogs to our lakes safely We welcome responsible dog owners and their dogs at our lakes across the south west Whilst visiting the lakes, the following rules are in place for the safety of your dog and other users (Fixed penalty charges apply) Dogs must be kept on a lead Other lake users, particularly children, may be scared of your dog Dogs disturb livestock, ground nesting birds and other wildlife Other dogs might be nervous and aggressive when approached Dogs must be kept out of the water at all times Toxic Blue/ Green algae may be present which could kill your dog. More information can be found on the Blue Cross website Enclosed dog exercise areas can be found at Burrator, Siblyback, and Roadford. We currently have thee dedicated dog exercise areas to offer dogs a great day out. Burrator Situated 600 yards north-east of the Discovery Centre (opposite Lowery Moor), it has been planted with native broadleaf saplings. The area is fenced off with tall deer fencing, restricting access for livestock and deer. Your dog can run free and explore the many paths within this area, with no risk of frightening livestock or entering the water. Roadford Lake A 0.24 acre fully enclosed fenced area, nested into the main carpark lined with trees for a convenient stretch of the paws before visiting our cafe – you'll find the entrance on the second tier of the carpark nestled centrally into the tree line. Siblyback Lake Situated just a 370 yards along a lakeside walk from the main carpark, Siblyback boasts an impressive 2.3 acre enclosed field, with great views across the lake and of the surrounding Bodmin Moor. Just follow the lakeside path (with the lake on your left) and you’ll find the entrance just past the campsite.
