This year's Invasive Species Week takes place from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th May. It's an opportunity to find out more about why biosecurity is so important and the work that is going on to help reduce the impact of non-native species (INNS) on our lakes and landscapes. 

Here's what's going on and how you can get involved:

Our Conservation Officer Laura will be hosting the pop-up stand for a Q&A throughout the day. Do pop along for a chat or any questions you have about invasive species!

Wednesday 14 May Online INNS and Biosecurity webinar, 12.30pm- 1.30pm 

Our Conservation Officer Laura will be leading an INNS and Biosecurity webinar on Microsoft Teams. This will be an informative presentation with Q&A at the end of the session. Please email  [email protected]  if you would like to join the webinar. A link will be sent out before the event.

Thursday 15 May  Roadford Lake Cafe and Venue, PL16 0RL South West Invasive Species Forum, 9.30am-3.30pm  This annual event is hosted by South West Lakes Trust and South West Water. 

This year we have a focus on marine and water life recovery. This is a free event with guest speakers, workshops and food provided. Sign up here.  

Friday 16 May College Reservoir, TR11 5PE  Invasive species survey, 10am-1pm

We will be leading a walk around College Reservoir, showing the important things to look out for and what key information needs to be noted when filling in an INNS report.

Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 May  Roadford Lake, PL16 0RL Invasive species trail, 10am-4pm

Head on over to Roadford Lake Café to pick up your leaflet to complete our INNS trail. Follow the path past the play area and look out for our eight plaques!
